Memorial Day Weekend Fun!

So since we went to Newport Beach last spring, I have fallen in love with the beach, beach houses, dolphins, etc. there.  I didn't plan far enough in advance for the perfect hotel there so we ended up staying a little bit north in Huntington Beach for Memorial Weekend.  It was definitely different and more crowded (probably mostly because it was a holiday weekend), but we had a great time.  We spent most of our time at the beach Saturday and Sunday afternoon.  It was a lot colder than we had anticipated with the wind, so we mostly just hung out on the beach, had our lunch, and played in the sand.  Kynli was not okay with the waves in the ocean the first day.  Okay...she was terrified!!! I don't know where this fear comes from at all.  She would not let go of either of our hands.  She would cry and scream if Jordan or I tried to go into the water at all.  Poor girl was not loving it.  But by Sunday and a lot of encouragement she finally splashed in the waves a little with her feet and was okay to go near it.  Thank goodness! She mostly had fun finding seashells and eating chips on the beach. We ate at the best Mexican restaurant that either of us had been to, called Fred's Mexican.  It was right on the corner of main street overlooking the ocean.  They had super yummy salsa and really the best enchiladas and for Jordan, the best shrimp enchilada he's ever had! He almost made us eat there twice in a row because it was so good.  I ended up convincing him to let us go to Ruby's on the Pier as part of our new tradition :) Overall, so much fun and some much needed relaxation.

Our hotel is the one right behind Jordan on the right....love that it was so convenient to go to the beach!
There's Ruby's Diner in the background on the pier.
That's about as close as she would get to the water the first day.
Sunset from our hotel!

This is what she spent her time doing in the hotel room...."calling people" :)

The pretty sunset after eating at Ruby's Diner.....you might not be able to tell, but it was FREEZING!!!! Seriously never been so cold.
Hanging out on our deck with baby.
