4th of July Fun!

This year we stayed in Vegas for the first time for the 4th of July.  I wasn't quite sure what there was to do here.... We ended up at the Summerlin Parade that morning which was actually really nice.  We were lucky to find a spot just as it was starting.  Luckily it was a bit cooler that day, but it was also more humid from the overcast.  Kynli loved it though and would wave at almost everyone and clap when people around us would.  Too cute! Then we headed home for some relaxation and naps.  It rained for a couple hours so our evening wasn't looking to good, but luckily it cleared up just in time for us to pack up and head to the park.  We went to a park in Providence that overlooked the entire valley....seriously such a great view!!! We picked up some food and ate our dinner on our blanket and then played on the grass and talked with friends while we waited for the fireworks to start.  Kynli found a cute lil girl to play with for a bit and she was so nice to give her a flag and glow-in-the-dark bracelet.  We also did some sparklers and Kynli was loving it!  Again, turned out to be great weather after the rain so it wasn't too hot. So nice!!! As it got dark, we could see fireworks all over the valley from peoples houses as well as some of the casinos....so cool!! The park lit their fireworks off at 9:30 and we had an awesome view.  We could even see where they were being lit from...so we were close :) Kynli was not so sure about this closeness as it started, but she came and cuddled up with me and was fine.  She even started to say which ones were her favorite and the colors after I had been.  LOVED it!!! So glad we were able to go to that park...it made it feel just like a typical 4th back home.

The rain on the 4th...Kynli has a book with Bert using an umbrella and has been asking to use ours...I told her next time it rains she can go outside with ours.  So the first thing she said when i told her it was raining was "where's my umbrella?!"

If you look REALLY close....you can see the strip in the background.
